Easy Cheesy Biscuits

As soon as I saw this recipe, I already knew how good they are gonna be, you can´t go wrong with cheese 🙂 Delicious Cheese Biscuits. I only made half of the recipe, it made 11 small and 4 big ones. They were sooooo gooooooooood! You know the biscuits they serve at Red Lobster? Well, these are even better!!! IMGP2889Easy Cheesy Biscuits

3 cups all purpose flour
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon sea salt ( I used the regular salt)
1/2 cup salted softened butter
1/2 cup shredded Asiago cheese
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (I used marble)
2 large eggs
1 cup sour cream (I used cream cheese since I used the sour cream for dip a night before)
1/2 cup milk

Bake the biscuits at 425 degrees F for 12-14 minutes or until they are golden brown on top.

Shred Asiago and Cheddar cheese. Combine flour, cream of tartar (that´s new in my kitchen), baking powder, baking soda and salt. Cut in the salted butter just as you would for pie crust dough. Mix it good.

Stir in the shredded cheeses, says in the recipe that first cheddar and then Asiago but I added all my cheeses in the same time. I also added a little bit of blue cheese. Then add the beaten eggs and the sour cream in that order. Mix everything all up together. Add the milk and stir until everything is thoroughly combined.IMGP2876Drop the biscuits by soup spoonfuls onto an ungreased baking sheet. I ignored that and used parchment paper and did not grease it, that was a mistake because my parchment paper started to smoke half way through and I had to transfer them to another baking sheet. The next patch I used Pam spray without parchment paper and it turned out great!

IMGP2883Good any time – breakfast, lunch or with dinner. These are the “bestest” right from the oven but they stay nice and fresh for approx 3-4 days.

Takes a bit of time to make but so worth it! I think this is my favourite recipe yet from Hannah Swensen books. * Plum Pudding Murder by Joanne Fluke
